Student Requirements

Westside MMA exists to help students gain access to a sport that encourages discipline, respect, and hard work.  We will unashamedly do our best to encourage a culture of respect and hard work at Normal Community West High School.

This club is for students who attend Normal West who wish to get in great physical shape and also learn the arts of Filipino Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai.  There will be an opportunity for students to participate in a competition.

Students who are interested must meet the following criteria:

1. No Fs.  If you have any F grades, you are not allowed to participate.  If you have any D grades, you are expected to go to tutoring at Normal West until the grades come up.  We do grade checks each week.

2. No referrals.  If you can’t manage to listen or respect your teachers, you won’t listen to your coaches and that’s how you get seriously hurt.  

3. No tardies to class.  The only reward for being lazy is being lazy.  Being okay with being lazy will get you only the lowest rung of jobs in society.

You must get your permission form signed and bring it to the first practice.
