Our Fighting Style Influences
Our Muay Thai fighting style is known as Muay Mat Muay Thai. Muay Mat is an aggressive style that relies on heavy punch combinations, forward pressure, and knockout power.
Characteristics
Heavy Hands: Fighters use Western-style boxing punches (hooks, crosses, jabs) as their main weapon.
Low Kicks: They pair their punches with crushing low kicks to the opponent's lead leg, using the kicks to punish what the high guard leaves open.
Relentless Pressure: They walk forward constantly to cut off the ring, smothering the opponent's range and forcing them into chaotic exchanges.
The Warrior Path Muay Thai series borrows heavily from American Boxing as a foundation. We honor the fighting styles of Roy Jones, Jr. and Pernell Whitaker. Additionally, we use Filipino Boxing as a way of stopping our opponent with an offensive defense. Manny Pacquiao was a great Filipino boxer.
